Broke LA, formerly Brokechella, is holding its sixth run this Saturday, April 23rd in Downtown LA. I'm heading there for the first time this year, camera in hand, and really looking forward to the good vibes. Executive produced by cARTel (Collaborative Arts LA) the festival is designed to support local and independent artists of many kinds, creating a space to foster and build a community amongst them. Taking place at the Imperial Art Studios, the fest is going to house 5 stages, including music and comedy acts, tons of local artists, vendors and pop ups, making this year the biggest production yet.
Last week they gathered a bunch of the bands playing and press attending for an afternoon of pizza, beer and hangs at Delicious Pizza. It was the perfect way to connect with everyone and break the ice before the big day! Now I can walk into the event on Saturday knowing I'm going to go spend a day running into friends, shooting them on stage, and discovering more local art in the process.
Take a peek through the bands I hung out with last week, and watch out for them on one of the stages this weekend!
